If you are unable to get in touch with the landowners, I would send them a letter through mail.Remember, if you are granted permission, respect their land just as you would yours. And always attempt to share your finds with them because if it were not for them giving you permission, you wouldn't have found it in the first place...Hope this helps!

First thing I would do is research the property. Make sure it has what you are looking for. Next, I would try and find the landowner and face-to-face ask for permission. Tell him/her that you have research the land's history, etc and you believe there may be some artifact/relics located there. If you get the big "no!", don't sweat it. Ask if you can at least discuss with them the research that you have worked on.
