definitely. A silver quarter is worth about 5 bucks right now but can be worth much more depending on the date.

With silver prices where they are, I believe the silver content of the coins is worth more than face value :) The ones with the greatest value are those in really good condition and / or with a key date (limited amount in circulation). One of the things NOT to do is rub the dirt off the coins. If I'm in an area where there's older silver, I'm careful. For these "modern" silver I'm not...

Nice finds. I went out this moring and found a 1944 silver nickel and a 1925D wheat penny. Nothing special but still fun.
