Prawn Khichuri
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice
Medium prawns
Moong Dal
Shelled peas
Tomatoes
Onion (Sliced)
Ginger chopped
Garlic chopped
Green chilly (Slitted)
Green chilly (Whole)
Garam masala (Whole)
Turmeric powder
Coriander powder
Grated coconut
Ghee

Method:
Roast moong dal in dry pan till special flavour emitted.
Wash in hot water and pressure cook with peas & 2 tsp turmeric powder.
Cook rice till tender. Do not drain.
Shell and devein (removing the vein on the back) prawns & mix 1 tsp tumeric powder.
Heat 2 tbsp ghee, add prawns & salt. Fry well and keep aside.
Put rest of the ghee, add garam masala. Add & fry onions till golden.
Add ginger, garlic and slitted green chilies along with coriander powder.
Fry for 2 minutes.
Add tomatoes and fry till soft.
Add prawns and stir well.
Add cooked rice and dal. Mix well with salt and cook on slow fire for 10 minutes.
Add water if necessary in between.
Remove from fire and add grated coconut and whole green
chilly on the top.
Keep covered for 10 minutes.
Serve hot with optional extra ghee on the top.
