01 Dec. 2003:
A speeding minibus overturned and claimed life of one of
passengers Mr. Tapan Roy, a DPL employee. The bus of 8A
plying between Durgapur station and Mayabazaar, overturned at a
speed breaker near Khejurtala while trying to speed across the
speed breaker. 10 passengers are reported to be severely injured
and admitted to DPL, Bidhannagar & DSP Main hospital of the
city. 2 among the injured are reported to be at critical
condition.
The driver & the conductor of the bus surrendered at the
Cokeoven police station and the bus has been taken to custody by
the police.
