Two persons have been arrested in connection with an unnatural death of Ruby Golder (23), a housewife of Purbasthali village. Ruby was married to Mahadeb Golder in about five months back. News of her committing suicide broke out on 2nd April. Provas Mondal, her father said, "she didn't commit suicide. She was strangled to death & later was poisioned to disguise the act." The deceased father lodged a complaint against 7 persons including her husband & in-laws.

Police has arrested two persons including the husband. The investigating officer when contacted said, "we have arrested two person. Our primary findings reveled this is a case of suicide, but it is established that she was tortured at her in-laws place." When asked whether she was strangled to death, he said, "although we didn't find any such evidences but can't comment on this before post-mortem reports come in." The remaining five are still absconding.
