DURGAPUR TEENAGER RESCUED FROM IMPOSTERS

A teenage girl was rescued from the clutches of imposters who had lured up her promising job. She was rescued from Andal where she was taken by a tea stall owner last evening. The police arrested the father of the teashop owner today. 

Serina Khatun, the girl reached City Centre bus stand here with her parents yesterday from Dubrajpur in Birbhum. The poor family reached Durgapur by bus to get engaged as wage labours in the town. Joydeb Ghosh, a tea stall owner in the bus stand proposed the family that he has got connection with some construction site officials in Andal, some 20km from City Centre and took the girl promising absorption. 

Sk. Khurshid Alam, father of the girl sought police help when her daughter did not return back last night and the tea stall was remaining closed. The police prompted action and raided the house of Joydeb this morning. But neither the girl nor the tea stall operator could be located there at Waria village. Acting on a tip off the police led by Sudip Dasgupta, the in charge, City Centre Investigation Centre raided a den in Andal railway town and the girl could be rescued. The culprit stall owner however fled the scene. The police also came to know that the tea stall owner and his brother use to operate as a broker of illegal iron scrap business centered around Durgapur. A few stalls in City Centre bus stand are also been used by the scrap mafia to help smooth navigation of illegal trade. The father of Joydeb was detained by police.
