Andal, 27 Feb: The Andal Coalfield area was tensed last night when the private security guards shot at a group of villagers who had assembled beside a colliery siding in Kumardihi, Andal P.S. area with an intension allegedly to loot coal. One villager Ganesh Bhunia (32) succumbed to the gunfire and others fled the scene.

Senior police officials rushed to Kumardihi soon after the incident and arrested a clerk with the Eastern Coalfields’ own security service operated in Bankola area and his two associates. The police suspect mischief behind sudden firing. The villagers of Tilaboni, according to the ECL security officials had assembled in the railway siding of the colliery to loot coal stock and Ganesh was leading the team. The police was told by the private security officials that the agency gunmen had opened fire when they were challenged by the offenders. The police arrested three suspecting a monkey business. The police said that the matter was suspicious that, why a clerk had been to the raid with the security staffs who in no circumstance is empowered to be a party?
