DSP TO FOLLOW SOLE UNION REPRESENTATION

Over 15000 employees of Durgapur Steel Plant will vote their representatives on 27th August. The DSP will implement `one organisation one union' rule from this day. The management has decided that one union securing more than 50% or more support will represent the employees. In case of any such majority, the union securing the maximum votes will form the union. The trade unions have divided into two major parts & both hope to win the battle. The non-left trade unions have allied to counter the CITU. 

Pradip Kumar Das, leader of the CITU informed that their union is the only recognised union since the last thirty years. The leader of INTUC complained that, representation of the CITU is only found in different committees of the organisation. The CITU leaders where as said, "the election will help us to get the majority & we are sure to represent." The leader of AITUC, Nirmal Routh informed that neither of the unions will be able to acquire a single majority & the forum consisting of representatives from all parties will represent the employees' demands.
