Roy later addressed a meeting at Mathurapur village. He said, "the communists once demostrated for the poor & today they are stealing the foods of the poor while mocking as to be very much concerned about them." He also condemned the state government for using police to suppress the demonstration of the poor. He said, "the villagers even don't know that rice & other food grains were brought in for them during the last 3 years 8 months which the CPI(M) leaders have sold off in the open market depriving the original beneficiaries. When the poor villagers of Dighnagar protest against this nexus, the CPIM used police & fired at the demonstrators injuring four persons. The police also arrested 46 villagers & demolished several huts when the people of Galsi protest at the same issue." Roy also demanded the accounts of the food grains supplied to the actual beneficiaries during this period from the state government.
