Burdwan, 28 Dec. 03 : The 1st ever IT & Electronics fair has been inaugurated at the local Utsav Maidan, Parbirhata, Burdwan this evening by Shri Nirupam Sen, Hon'ble Minister, Govt. of West Bengal. Shri Aninul Haque, Vice Chairman, Burdwan Municipality, Shri Debasish Bose, Add. District Magistrate (Dev.), Prof. B. N. Biswas & other dignitaries were present at the function.

"This is the ear of Information Technology. We are proud to know that people from our city, our state & our country share a major portion of the IT professional all over the world. Newer technology has brought us closer and the cost of inter- connectivity has drastically scaled down during the last few years. We should use this technology more for the betterment of people from all aspect of the society. IT has completely changed the scenario of the medical, construction, entertainment & other industry. This kind of an effort is really appreciable and make us proud to know that Bardhaman has grown in the field of Information Technology." said Shri Sen at his speech. 

This fair has experienced hi-tech media of advertisement, courtesy Reliance Telecom Ltd. This GSM mobile service provider has broadcasted SMS to all its users all over South Bengal about the fair. Daily seminars, presentations, cultural events will grace the fair.
