A 19 years old unmarried girl died at BMCH soon after she was admitted at the hospital yesterday in critical condition. Baby Maji of Akuripara in Asansol area was reported to be suffering from chronic piles. Her family took her to Gopal Paramanick, a quack doctor from Gobindapur, Bankura after they were informed by neighbours of his claim to cure piles `without operation'. The patient informed to her parents that, the quack had examined her & administered `a sindoor look alike' medicine on her. She started feeling nauseate soon after taking the medicine & started vomiting just after they reached a nearby relative's home, the family informed. Her piles wounds also started bleeding there after. She was rushed to Beliatore primary health center from where she was referred to Asansol sub-divisional hospital. She was referred from the S.D. hospital to BMCH for better medical attention where she expired soon after. The body was sent for post mortem. The deputy super of BMCH, Manjur Murshed informed bardhaman.com that, perhaps Baby was administered with some medicine prepared with caustic soda and mercury which damaged her total system.
