Six students of Gourmohan Roy college, Monteswar were injured when two student unions battled against each other today at the college campus. A SFI supporter, Sk. Akhtar has been admitted at the Burdwan Medical College & Hospital in serious condition. The general secretary of the college & a Chatra-Parishad member Rakhhari Biswas had to encounter head injury. 

The district police super, Niraj Kumar Singh informed bardhaman.com, "two student groups clashed against each other on the new admission issue. The Kalana SDPO had visited the college & a police picket has been posted. No has been arrested yet."

The SFI & CP leaders have already blamed each other for the consequence. The district committee secretary of SFI, Uday Roy said, "the CP members attacked our supporters while the were conducting a meeting at the college. The CP supporters also brought hooligans from outside the college & injured our students." Subsequently the president of the Chatra-Parishad, Jotirmoy Roy informed that, "the SFI students insisted the students to attend their meeting during the normal class timings. The students resisted & later they were brutally beated by the SFI supported students & CPIM backed mastans. Our general secretary Rakhahari Biswas has been injured on process of resisting them."
