Burdwan: AIDSO State conference stops city traffic.

Education policy condemned at AIDSO state rally

Burdwan , 22 Jan. 04 : The 7th state conference of AIDSO (the student wing of SUCI) was kicked off today with a open meeting at the Utsav Maidan of Burdwan. The conference is scheduled to be held on 23rd & 24th Jan at Sanaskriti Lokmancha, Burdwan. Today's open meeting addressed by Provas Ghosh, State Secretary, SUCI, Mahiuddin Mannan, State Secretary, all India president of AIDSO Pratap Shyamal & other party leaders. The conference officially inaugurated by Prof. Gouri Shankar De, president welcome comitte. Chief guest Prof. Sunanda Sanyal salutes the dedication of DSO workers and their continuous struggle to rectify the education system in his speech.

State secretary Provas Ghosh condemn both central and state government's education policy and their educational cost hiking, introduction of capitation fees etc. He told "government virtually destroyed primary

education in the name of DPEP and Sarvasiskha Aviyan. At last by our strong movement for decades has compelled the W.B. Govt.to reintoduce English at the primary level & persuaded the concerned authority to withdraw hike in fees at many schools,college & universities." In front of 20 thousand student gathering he also told "Politics is the main thing of the life, no matter can be dissolved without politics. Politics rule the life". "More than 2500 delegates from all over the state will take

part in the conference" said Shri Anirudha Kundu, District Secretary, AIDSO.

As the day progressed, rallies of students & supporters took control of the city as they marched towards the venue. The city traffic came to a stand still.
