Burdwan, 19 Feb. 04 : A 'malkhana' in charge of burdwan court, sub-inspector Golam Mortaja convicted by burdwan special fast track court today. Judge Bijan Kumar Mitra charged Golam Mortaja by IPC 409. Judge ordered a 10 years conviction for stealing 2.26 lakh from court storeroom. 

After hearing the judgment Golam Mortaja told "I am innocent. It is a real conspiracy against me with a false allegation". 

Report says Golam Mortaja was incharge of court 'malkhana' on 2 nd April 2003. The day was salary day of all policemen. After giving salary, Rs. 2 lakhs 26 thousand and 410 was remained and kept in the locker. The very next day court inspector and other officials found the locker is empty. Then court inspector Mr. Talukdar lodged a FIR(8/03) for this incident at burdwan sadar police station. After a quick investigation duty officer Rajashree Dutta arrested Golam Mortaja on 3rd April. However Mortaja gets bail after 3 months of his arrest. The judgement of this case comes within one year at district special fast track court.
