BURDWAN: 6 DEAD IN TWO ROAD ACCIDENTS

Five staffs of GAMUDA, the Malaysian company engaged with expansion of the NH2 died when the car they were traveling met an accident with a speeding truck at the national highway. Three more were rushed to a private nursing home in the city. The condition of one of them have been reported to be critical. Five along with two survey engineer of the company was traveling towards Burdwan when the speeding truck collided head on with it while overtaking a bus near Galigram, under Galsi P.S. Tapan Paramanik (40) & Tapan Sinha (26) expired instantly at the spot while Raju Bauri (21), Bablu Lohar (22) and Anirban Hazra (38) died after they were brought to Burdwan Medical College & Hospital.

Three injured, Kanchan Garai (32), Asit Chandra (36) & the head of the survey team, Asan, a Malaysian citizen were admitted at a private hospital. The condition of Kanchan Garai have been reported as reported to be critical due to shortage of `A Rh -ve' blood.

Officials of the construction company rushed to BMCH after receiving the news of the accident. The officials expressed their dissatisfaction over the treatment extended to the injured by the hospital & decided to shift the injured to the private hospital for better medical facilities. hospital. The company officials complained that the truck driver's recklessness have resulted the accident. The police have seized the truck but the driver & helper of the truck managed to flee & is still absconding.

In another incidence, one person died while eighteen injured when a passenger bus overturned near Mongalkot today. Bapi Hazra (24) died on the spot while 18 more injured passengers have been admitted at the Katwa hospital.
