The terror of antrik (acute dysentery usually water-borne) hits jangalmahal area. During the last few days, more than fifty persons of Joykrishnapur and Kantatikuri villages under Berenda & Bhedia panchayet respectively have been diagnosed to be affected by the disease. The disease have already claimed the life of Mohana Midda (32). Block health officials informed that, a medical camp have been set up at Berenda already to combat the disease. The sources also confirmed that six more patients have been admitted at the camp yesterday. The local people have requested the officials to set up a similar camp at Bhedia.

Local sources informed that, the tribal villagers of the area are often hit by the disease during the monsoon period as their drinking water sources get contaminated during this period.
