The Purbasthali police have arrested Subrata Paramanik, a 26 years old villager of Nadanghat. Police received information that, Subrata although not from a poor family, suddenly have started behaving elite & recently on a spending spree. Police was amazed when they recovered over Rs. 7,60,000 in cash & 26 bharis of gold ornaments from his possession. The youth couldn't give valid reason how he got so richer suddenly.

The district police super, Niraj Kr. Singh informed that, Subrata was working as a servant at Calcutta for the last few months. He also said, "we are cross checking with our colleagues at Calcutta to find out more details on how he got the booty."
