Burdwan, 16 May. 04 :  A seventeen year old boy ran over by a bus this morning at Kurmuna-Chandanpur village near Galsi . Today at around 8.05 am a speeding bus crashed him at National Highway. The boy Sk. Rafikul of Choknola village under Galsi PS , died on the spot. The killer Burdwan-Barakar rout bus (WB41 6869) surrendered immediately to Galsi police station. Police  arrested the bus driver. And after this accident local people blocked the NH-2. Busy National Highway traffic became paralysed for few hours.

The local agitators have been demanding an 'under-way' which was promised by Gamuda company. The Gamuda company is constructing GT road on behalf of National Highway Authority for a long time. So many accidents happened in this zone in recent time. And in every time Gamuda assured local people to construct 'under-way' below the GT Road. But they did'nt kept their promise and accident prolonged. A local resident Chandan Das told very irritably " we will not give more time to construct under-way, they are not in position to consider our life threat." at the time of road blocking. 

In an another incident, a man Benu Birbanshi (35) died last night. Around 10 pm a truck squashed him at National Highway near Pursha.
