, 16 Feb. 04 :
Sk. Jafar Ali of Goda, Burdwan a consumer of Indane LPG
connection under its dealer , State Government Employees
Consumers Co-operative Stores Ltd. had procured a new
LPG cylinder from its Rathtala godown last Saturday.
This seems to be a very normal story, but the abnormal
fact is, the LPG cylinder was filled with water instead
of the cooking gas.
"I had sent Sk. Sahadat, a rickshaw puller to fetch
the gas for me" said Sk. Jafar Ali, a employee of
the state govt. owned State Dairy Farm. "The
rickshaw puller was amazed with the weight of the
cylinder & also complained it with the godown
employees." continued Jafar Ali. Once they
connected the cylinder, the same didn't ignite inspite
of several efforts. As they tilted the cylinder, some
water poured out of the connector pipe. Sk. Jafar added,
"I now doubt whether this cylinder was actually
filled at the company's bottling plant. This may be a
case of refilled by un-authorised personnel."
Sk. Jafar lodged a complaint with the District
Magistrate, after he interacted with bardhaman.com. His
Consumer No. is 3171 & the Cash Memo No. 39221 dt.
