Two persons were arrested in connection with a marriage of two minors near Nadanghat. Kushal Mitra, an eleven years old boy was married off with Manasi Hazra, a girl three years older than him. The marriage was conducted ceremonially & the villagers attended the party, but eventually a difference of opinion between the two families came to limelight just after the marriage. The confrontation started with Manasi's family demanding that the young groom should live with his in-laws. 

The tug of war resulted in Sunati Hazra, mother of Manasi lodging a complaint with the police that, Kushal's parents are trying to take her & marry her off with their son forcibly. Purbasthali police arrested Rina Mishra & Guddua Mishra, mother & uncle of Kushal. 

Local gram panchayet pradhan, Rafiqul Islam expressed his suspicion against the motive of Kushal's family as they originally hail from Lucknow. He suspects that, the girl could be sold off once she was taken to Lucknow. The BDO however informed that the incidence is beyond his knowledge. The boy's father is absconding to avoid arrest.
