The thrice in a row member of parliament from Burdwan
constituency CPI(M) candidate, Nikhilananda Sar promised to
provide electricity to every house in the area at a minimal cost
of Re. 1 per unit. He informed bardhaman.com at an
exclusive interview just after he was declared elected from
Burdwan constituency with a huge margin of almost 5 lacs vote.
When he was recalled by our correspondent that he didn't want to
be nominated due to his age he said, "I am still firm to my
decision. I was really not willing to contest the election, but
I did so due to the party & the common people of my
constituency. I can resign today itself id told to do so. "
When asked about his feeling about the win, he said, "I'm
not enjoying like a first-timer, I'm quite seasoned to the
win."
He also informed that, the talk is on with some private
promoters to provide low-cost alternative power to the villages.
Saving of under-ground water of the area will be his prime
focus. |
