The Sr. DME of Andal had a close shave yesterday midnight. His speeding TATA Sumo crashed behind a standing truck at G. T. Road near Nola area of Galsi P.S. The truck with iron rods loaded on it was standing at a road side hotel when the Sumo crashed behind it. A railway employee accompanying the Sr. DME to Burdwan, Parameswar Lal (50) of Kulti, died on the spot as rods pierced through him. Another passenger of the vehicle, Pramodh Misra, critically wounded was admitted to Burdwan Medical College & Hospital.

Police sources reveled that, the vehicle carrying a Sr. DME, of Eastern Railways & his accompanies faced an accident at around midnight yesterday. Primary investigation reveled that the truck parked close to the road in darkness was the main reason for the accident.

At another accident, 5 labours of Dumka district were injured when a truck filled with paddy bags overturned near Bhatar P.S. Lachia Maddi, Buro Maddi, Hapua Maddi, Hapna Maddi & Mohan Murmu were admitted at the Burdwan hospital. The truck was on the way to Madhabdihi from Balgona.
