A woman, Zuhuka Biwi (65) succumbed to splinter injury on spot at Horipur village, Galsi PS, Burdwan this afternoon when miscreants hurled bomb at the survey staffs who were at work. The police registered complaint against seven persons. None however could be arrested. 

The miscreants raided the premises of a cooperative society where the land department surveyors were engaged to fix up the identification and measurement of the piece of land that was sold to the society by one Sk Arman of the village. Trouble started when Arman claimed the title of the land further though he had sold the same to the society few months back. Today the society called up the land department surveyors to clarify the measurement the land. 

The police said that Arman hired few miscreants from the area and engaged them to disturb survey works. They attacked staffs of the society and the surveyors with bombs. Zuhuka Biwi, the aged woman was passing through the road when a bomb blasted her. She died instantly. The incident sparked tension in the area. None could be arrested. The SP, Burdwan, Mr KC Meena said that police patrolling has been initiated in the area.
