Father and step mother of a of an eight year old girl were arrested for killing her. The incidence took place yesterday night at Sodhpur Halderpara, Katwa. Puja Halder, a student of class two at Sodhpur school was killed by poisoning her with poison used to kill rats. She was rushed to hospital after consuming the dinner offered to her by her step-mother. She expired on the way to the hospital. The Burdwan police super, Niraj Kr. Singh informed that, Kesto Halder, Puja's father married Chandana Halder a few days back. Chandana happens to be the fourth wife of Kesto . All of his earlier wives were driven out by Kesto . Chandana could not tolerate her step-daughter, Puja. The body has been sent for postmortem.
