A doctor attach to
the Serampore Rural Hospital in Purbasthali Block has allegedly
turn his official quarter into a private clinic.
In a letter
written to the Burdwan CMOH, recently, Sova Das, a group D
hospital employee, has alleged that Dr. A. K. Bera, has not only
being using her quarter as private clinic but has also served a
notice to vacate her room. She has been occupying it ever
since she joined the hospital five years ago. Das has alleged
that Dr. Bera wants to vacate her quarter because she refused to
work as his housemaid. She has meet CMOH in person to present
her case. The letter said Bera's private practice was
inconvenient for her since his patient often encroach upon
'baranda' .
Das, a widow, was
allotted the quarter by the authorities, now Dr. Bera wants to
shift her to near by Group 'D' quarter. She has been served two
memos - SRH/104 dated 07/02/2003 and SRH/808 dated 24/12/2003 -
by the doctor.
Today is pulse
polio day and Sova Das accused Dr. Bera of misusing money
meant for pulse polio program, saying he used the money to
organise a staff picnic.
Deputy CMOH (II), Burdwan,
Dr. B. D. Sahu told bardhaman.com that they were aware of Bera's
private practice and are going to taking necessary action
against him.
