Online lottery have claimed a life at Burdwan yesterday night. So claims the son of Nemai Chandra Saha, the deceased. Saha, an ex-servicemen retired from Indian Navy on 2001, committed suicide at his Shankharipukur, Burdwan residence yesterday night.

His son Dipanjan Saha, a 2nd year student at the ploy-technique college informed that, his father was obsessed with lottery tickets after he retired from the navy. Recently he grew up habit of buying online lottery tickets. "He has blown up his entire savings on the lottery. He have even borrowed more than Rs. 3,50,000 from different sources to continue with his dream of hitting the jackpot one day" added Dipanjan.

The police officials informed, "an unnatural death case has been registered & the body was sent for post mortem today. Although the enquiry is on, the primary findings reveled that he committed suicide due to financial crunch. We cannot comment now, why he faced such crunch."
