The district police have today taken Sardar Show, the
main accused in the twin murder case to Kolkata for
further interrogation & investigation. A high level
team of police officials has accompanied him. Earlier
Show, the husband of Punam Devi (30) was arrested by the
police in connection with the murder of his wife & 3
years old child, Nilu. |

Although
Nilu, was murdered along with her mother, the oldest
child, Gudia (5) was spared by Show. Show has confessed of
murdering the duo with the help of an associate on
26.04.04. The associate, a cab-driver along with Show
disposed the bodies stuffed into two travel bags near
Uttar Mirchoba, Burdwan for a mere Rs. 5,000 payment. Show
informed that, "I'm sure Nilu is not my child. She
had illicit relation with another person." He also
claimed that, his in-laws opposed when he tried to suit a
divorce case against her. |

After
a marathon interrogation, the police officials are yet to
ascertain the identity of the `other person' in Punam's life.
Where as, police have confirmed that, Show had extra-marital
relations with one Joyti of Bhawanipore, Kolkata. Police is on
hunt for Joyti & the accused driver. Police sources informed
that the driver was quite well aware of the city & had taken a
u-turn towards Kolkata before dumping the bodies to mislead the
police. Police is also likely to question Gudia, to find out if
she has witnessed the act. A team of the city police is likely to visit Sasaram in
Bihar, where Punam's family lives, for further investigation.
