NCC GROUP BURDWAN CONDUCTS TRAINING CAMP AT PANAGARH

Burdwan, 01 July 04 :
The 51 Bengal battalion NCC, Purulia under aegis of NCC group Burdwan conducted a combined annual training camp (CATC-I) at the Panagarh army base. The twelve day camp started from 22nd June with more than 500 boys & girls cadets from the districts of Burdwan, Birbhum, Purulia & Hooghly. The camp has been organised to achieve aims & objectives such as personality development, nation building, development of leadership qualities, spirit of adventure & train 

cadets in community development & community living, to make cadets conscious of social service& to train them for participation in various activities organised by NCC directorate of West Bengal, Sikkim & Director General NCC, Delhi.

Lt. Col. D. V. Singh, the camp commandant told the media persons today, "the cadets had organised AIDS awareness seminar in association with Pangram primary health center." He also added, "while doing so, children staged skits & made posters to create awareness among general public on AIDS." An inter-battalion competition was also held. A prize distribution ceremony was organised today & the prize was given away by the group commander, Burdwan NCC group, Col. K.P.S. Khati. Major Jatinder Singh & PRO Koushik Ghosh from the group headquarter were also present on the occasion. The group commander also said that, social services will be organised through out the year by the group.
