Asansol, 29 Mar, 04:
Another NDA partner Janta Dal (United) has floated its candidate in Asansol. The Trinamul Congress already has declared Mr. Moloy Ghatak, the Hirapur MLA as its party candidate. Now the JDU fielded Mr.
Upendra Paswan as the party candidate for the oncoming Loksabha
Mr. Arun Srivastava, the all India general secretary of the
party declared the nomination of party candidates. The party held a conference at Asansol yesterday. Mr. Srivastava said, ‘we had adjustment with the Trinamul in last Panchayat and Assembly elections. This time we had asked the Trinamul to spare five seats only. But they declined to spare a single seat only.’ He further added, ‘we were forced to launch our own candidate in Asansol to mark our presence here.’ Mr. Moloy Ghatak, the Trinamul Congress district president did not pay much
attention to the JDU move. He only said, ‘they practically have no base here. Its their mistake and we shall remember this.'
