The Trinamool Congress workers today paralysed the transportation system of the Asansol city when they block the G. T. Road at BNR more & Upcar Gardens area. TMC supporters led by Moloy Ghatak block the road today morning in demand of repair & maintenance of the road. The although a holiday for most of the office, schools & colleges, led to major road jam. The blockade were removed after Saikat Dutta, a magistrate representing the SDO promised that the demand will be meet up by the administration. Moloy Ghatak said, "after the G. T. Road bypass was constructed, the national highway authority & the CPWD is treatin it to be the NH2 while the maintenance of the erstwhile G. T. Road has been imposed with the state PWD. The PWD has failed to maintain the busy road leave aside the upliftment." The Asansol SDO, Chandan Chayan Guha said, "I am aware about their demands & same has been forwarded to the PWD. The PWD officials informed me that they will shortly invite tender for the necessary repair works."
