This golden jubilee celebrating Durgapuja have looked down south for its mandap. The mandap inspired by famous Minakshi temple of Maduri. The exterior of the mandap is made up of madur/sitalpati on a base of plywood. The exterior is decorated with scenes depicting the natraja (dancing shiva) & the 52 pieces of sati (another name of Durga) with the details where they fall according to the mythology of `satir dehatyag'. The interior is nicely done with sitalpati & depicts different scenes from Ramayana.

The idol of Durga is fabulous. The idol has been built by Nikhil Pal. The organisers claim that the puja rituals & the debi murti (idol) has been the main focus of them since the last 50 years. "We still continue with the same looks & decor of Ma Durga from the first year" claimed one of the organiors.

An idol worth to see inspite of the long queue.
