This Durgapuja is one of the oldest in Asansol & is known to be the puja of Moloy Ghatak, the local TMC leader. The mandap of this 66 years Durgapuja has been inspired by a temple of the southern India. Although a temporary mandap is erected, the inner side of the mandap is an actual nat-mandir. "We believe in restoring our tradition & don't decorate the nat-mandir which happens to be the permanent mandap of Ma Durga" informed Debasish Ghatak, the local councillor.

The debi pratima is built in traditional ekchala style. The puja committee also organises Bijoya samalani at the Asansol Rabindra Bhawan.
